NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will host the Mobile Rams for two matches at the Privateer Beach Courts on Friday. The first match is scheduled for 11 a.m. with the second to follow at 1 p.m.
The Privateers defeated Nicholls twice last weekend in Thibodaux by match scores of 4-1 and 3-2. That moved their record to 7-11 on the season. Two pairs won both of their matches on the weekend.
Cassie and
Ellie Sieling were dominant at flight one, winning all four sets and holding their opponents to single digit points in three of those four sets. The tandem now have a mark of 12-5 on the season.
Lucianna Alexander and
Renata Dykstra also went unblemished at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex. Playing at flight three, Alexander dominated the third set 15-6 in the first match of the day before taking their second match in straight sets 21-16, 21-17.
Alexander and Dykstra are 4-0 as a pair at flight three this season.
Ashley Salazar and
Brooke Dow became the second pair to reach double figures in wins this season while together. The tandem won their first match of the day at Nicholls by rallying from a set down to pick up their 10
th win of the season.
The Privateers have only played Mobile once in program history and it was in 2025. New Orleans defeated the Rams 3-2.
Mobile is 13-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play this season. Friday will mark their final matches before heading to the Sun Conference Tournament.
