Cooper played for the Privateers from 1974-78, first under Ron Greene and then under Butch Van Breda Koff. In his senior season, he was chosen as Sun Belt Conference “Player of the Year”  after averaging 18.1 points and leading the Privateers to the conference title and a 21-6 record. During his time at UNO, he led UNO to 80 victories.

Cooper still holds a place in UNO history. He is the career leader in rebounds with 923 to his name while ranking 13th in scoring with 1,209 points.

A 20-year veteran of the NBA with stops at Golden State, Utah, Dallas, Portland and Denver, Cooper is now a member of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings as the Vice President of Basketball Operations,
