The University of New Orleans women's volleyball team snapped a five-match overall losing streak with a five-game (26-30, 30-27, 30-22, 25-30, 28-30, 15-7) win over Sun Belt east division foe Middle Tennessee. New Orleans (6-13/2-6) got its first conference road win and first victory over a Sun Belt East division foe in four chances this season. With the win, the Privateers evened its conference five-match record to 2-2.
Four Privateers had double-digit kills, led by Alison Howard's season-best 57 assists and team-high 18 digs for her team leading eighth double-double of the season. Ann MacMillan and Melissa Caravella led the team with 17 kills and three blocks each. MacMillan added 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the year, while Caravella had 10 digs for her fifth double-double of 2001.
UNO used a combined .272 hitting percentage in games two and three to take a 2-1 lead. After dropping the fourth game, UNO committed no errors in the fifth game for the victory.
