Privateers to Face Off at Cingular Wireless Classic

Two University of New Orleans men's tennis players have advanced to the B Flight Singles Championship at the Cingular Wireless Classic at Cajun Courts. Abedin Sham advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals in the A Flight Singles.

Gui Dumas and Anders Oding will square off at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Dumas defeated Southeastern Louisiana's Matt Tate (4-6, 6-2, 6-1) to advance, while Oding downed Mattias Werren of Southern Miss (6-1, 6-4).

Sham advanced to Saturday's match with Texas-Arlington's Tom Zarzeczny after defeating two LSU Tigers; Nebojsa Murisic (6-1, 7-6) in the opening round and Brian Fischer (7-6, 2-6, 6-0) in the second round. Sham fell to Zarzeczny in straight sets (6-2, 6-0). Sebastien Locatelli and Michael Chkroun fell in the opening round matches and advanced to the consolation bracket. Locatelli advanced to the semifinals falling to Wake Forest's Derrick Spice (7-5, 1-6, 6-4).
