NEW ORLEANS, La. (Mar. 22, 2004) – Justin Lotz and Aaron Moreno finished tied for fourth place to assist the University of New Orleans to a second place tie after the first round of the 12-team 36-hole Methodist Sportscare Collegiate Championship played Monday at Eastover Country Club.
Lotz and Moreno each shot a 73 to pave the way for the Privateers. Kevin Maxwell garnered a tie for 20
th after posting a four over par 76. James Fuselier and Anthony Klingensmith each scored an 82 to tie for 47
th place. Brandon Suzuki rounded off the Privateer attack with an 84.
Alan Johnson of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Mark Searle of Tennessee State lead all golfers after day one, each posting a one under par 71.
Tennessee State leads the team competition with a total score of 301. UNO and Eastern Illinois follow closely behind in second with a 304. UMKC and Indian Hills Community College round out the top five tied for fourth with each scoring a 305.
The final round of the tournament will be held tomorrow at Eastover Country Club.
