FINAL RESULTS
GREENSBORO, Ga. (Sept. 20, 2005) - The University of New Orleans men's golf team placed eighth after shooting an 889 (+27) combined team score in their opening season tournament Tuesday in the 72 par Reynolds Plantation Golf Coast Classic at Port Armor Country Club.
Adam Collins shot a 214 (-2) during the three round event to tie for second in the individual standings. Collins, who was leading the tournament after two rounds, came in one stroke behind Aaron O'Callaghan of Southeastern who took the individual championship.
Anthony Cantu posted a 222 (+6) for a 24th place performance, while Jason Kuperman hit 230 strokes (+14) to earn 42nd. Adam Cornelson and Mitch Ellis finished 45th and 51st after respectively shooting a 231 (+15) and a 235 (+19).
Southern Mississippi claimed the team championship with a combined score of 861 (-3). Southeastern placed second with an 868 (+4), while Austin Peay took third with an 869 (+5). Host School Mercer shot an 871 (+7), followed by Middle Tennessee 878 (+14), South Florida 889 (+25), South Alabama 889 (+25), UNO 891 (+27), Bowling Green 899 (+35) and Florida Atlantic 914 (+50).
