NEW ORLEANS – Three-time defending Gulf South Conference champion West Florida extended their conference win streak to 14 matches with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-12) victory over the University of New Orleans on Tuesday night at the Human Performance Center.
Amanda Rhein and Christine Bach reached double-digit kills for UWF (16-8, 8-0 GSC) hitting 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
The Argos hit .430 for the match and completed an in-season sweep of UNO (2-14, 0-8 GSC). KaLee Duggan led UWF with 19 assists while splitting duties with Molly Pearce, who contributed 11.
Laila Hansen was the top hitter for the Privateers with seven kills. Hansen has led the UNO in the kill category in each of three matches since returning from a short hiatus.
Ryan Hamilton totaled 11 assists for the Privateers with
Elena Villar pacing the squad with seven digs. UNO had six blocks for the match with
Jasmyne Walker having a hand on three of the stuffs.
The Privateers will continue their season-long four-match homestand on Friday with a contest against North Alabama at 7 p.m. UNO will follow with Christian Brothers on Saturday at 2 p.m. with both matches at the Human Performance Center.
