Christian Brothers Hands Privateers 3-0 Loss

Hauck Steps Up with Four Blocks in Start

NEW ORLEANS – Christian Brothers rolled to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-17) win over the University of New Orleans on Saturday at the Human Performance Center.

CBU (21-7, 7-3 Gulf South Conference) continued the run of strong offensive performances against UNO (2-16, 0-10 GSC) by hitting .226 for the contest. Hannah Kurtz pounded out nine kills to lead the Lady Bucs while Alecia Stewart added another eight.

Sami Gruse distributed 16 assists for CBU with Corinne Doder handled 15 digs from the back row to help hold the Privateers to a 0.021 attack percentage.

Laila Hansen and Evelyn Kovacs had five kills apiece to pace the UNO offensive efforts. Setter Ryan Hamilton tallied 15 assists while Jessie Mouton put together 12 digs.

The Privateers had one of their best blocking performances of the season with six stuffs of CBU attack efforts. Samantha Hauck had a hand on four blocks while making the start in place of Jasmyne Walker.

Next up for UNO is a 7 p.m. encounter against Xavier on Tuesday at 7 p.m.  in the squad's annual 'Think Pink' match. The Privateers will wear pink in the contest, which is part of a day full of activities presented by UNO's athletic department that tips off with Mid-Day Madness at 12 p.m.
