UAH Tops UNO in Three in GSC Volleyball Contest

Privateers Travel to West Alabama on Saturday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Kelsey Williams had nine kills without an error to lead Alabama-Huntsville to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-9, 25-17) victory over the University of New Orleans on Friday night.

The nine kills by Williams were coupled by eight from Jessica Ruple as UAH (9-19, 4-7 Gulf South) won its second match in a row and virtually assured itself of a spot in the GSC tournament next month.

Kelly Wilson tallied 17 assists with Ashton Baker adding 11 for the Chargers, who hit .333 for the match.

UNO (2-18, 0-11 GSC) was led by Laila Hansen, who totaled six kills and nine digs. Elena Villar and Tory Hearn added four more kills apiece for the Privateers, who also received three blocks from Evelyn Kovacs.

Jessie Mouton was the top defensive player for UNO, digging up 10 UAH attacks from the back row.

The Privateers will head to West Alabama on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest before returning home on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest against Southern (N.O.).
