UNO Ends Road Swing with Loss to Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of New Orleans volleyball team concluded its string of five straight matches on the road with a loss, falling to Christian Brothers 3-0 (25-17, 25-7, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon at Canale Arena.

Hannah Kurtz led CBU (11-4) with eight kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Kelly Nolan added six kills while Sami Gruse paced the Lady Bucs with 12 assists.

The hosts took advantage of their service game with 11 aces, four from Gruse.

Jasmyne Walker and Laila Hansen totaled six kills apiece as UNO (2-8) fell for the third straight match. Tory Hearn and Ryan Hamilton followed with four kills apiece with Hamilton also distributing 16 assists.

Jessie Mouton posted 13 digs for the Privateers in the back row with Hansen adding another 11.

UNO will return to competition on Friday at 7 p.m. when Alabama-Huntsville visits the Lakefront Arena. West Alabama will follow on Saturday at 2 p.m.
