NEW ORLEANS, La. - Octavia Wilson had 12 points all in the first half, and
Jewel Angelo collected a team high 15 points but it wasn't enough as the New Orleans Privateers (0-8) fell 71-42 to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns (5-4) at the Lakefront Arena on Saturday.

Angelo opened the scoring for the Privateers with a jumper 14 seconds into the contest. That would be her only points of the opening half. Wilson followed with five straight points to give UNO what would be their last lead at 7-6.

The Privateers went the next 6:22 without a basket as the Cajuns scored the next eight points in that time span. The Privateers went 0-5 from the field and had five turnovers in that same stretch.

Louisiana-Lafayette went to the half with an 18-point lead after ending on another big run. Wilson made two free throws at the 3:49 mark to cut the lead back to single digits at eight. From that point, the Cajuns ended on an 11-3 run.

Angelo's 15 points marked the third time she has reached double figures this season. The Privateers were also efficient from the free throw line, as they hit at an 83.3 percent clip (25-30).
Mathilde Fogelstrom added a team-high 14 rebounds.

Jaylyn Gordon led the scoring effort for the Cajuns with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Sylvana Okde and Gabby Alexander put in 10 points each. The Cajuns also out-rebounded the Privateers 36-29 and had a 15-5 edge on the offensive glass.
