Getting to Know Tennis Student-Athlete Rui Silva

Each Sunday during the 2013-14 academic year, a student-athlete from around the UNO athletic department will be featured. This week's featured student-athlete is men's tennis sophomore Rui Silva.

Q: How many years have you been doing your sport?
A: I've been playing tennis in 16 years.
 
Q: What is your biggest superstition?
A: Do not step the lines.
 
Q: What is the funniest thing that ever happened during a game?
A: I drop the racket and won the point.
 
Q: Which game/event are you the most excited about in the upcoming season?
 A: I'm the most excited about the Southland Conference tournament.
 
Q: Which was your best game/event?
A: My best match was when I played against Tulane last season.
 
Q: What's your favorite tourist attraction in New Orleans?
A: My favorite thing in New Orleans is Bourbon Street, like everybody's!
 
Q: What is your favorite sport?
A: My favorite sport is tennis, but besides that I really like soccer.
 
Q: What is your favorite sports team?
A: My favorite sports team is a soccer team; Porto and whatever team Mourinho is coaching.
 
Q: What is your Favorite candy?
A: Sugarpova is the best!
 
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I've always wanted to be a scientist.
 
Q: Are you a cat or dog person?
A: I'm definitely a dog person.
 
Q: If you could meet one celebrity who would it be and why?
A: I would love to meet Ricky Gervais, he is a very funny man.
 
Q: What is your favorite all-time movie?
A: Lord of the rings, hand down.
 
Q: Which one you use the most: Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram?
A: Facebook over all the others!
 
Q: Do you have a favorite T.V. show and why do you like that show?
A: My favorite show is the Extras, it's very funny.
 
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: My favorite hobbies are reading andwatching movies.
 
Q: If you could be a superhero who would you be?
A: Jesus.
 
Q: What is your favorite movie trilogy?
A: The recent Star Wars. Just kidding, the Lord of the Rings obviously.
 
Q: If you could be any Disney cartoon who would it be?
A: I would be the genie in Aladin.
 
Q: What is your favorite song to listen to over and over again?
A: The Proclaimers 500 miles.

A: Coke. Is this a real question?

A: Helena Bonham Carter is amazing.

A: Ricky Gervais (I'm his biggest fan)

A: Christmas is the best!

A: Family guy all the way!

A: The hobbit.. Cannot get enough of the Lord of the Rings

A: Lebron James with Miami..

A: I would rather go to the Eiffel Tower.

A: I would chosose D. Afonso Henriques (the first king of Portugal)

A: Angie is so much better then Jennifer Aniston.

A: I would definitely take water, food and tennis equipment with me!
