Privateers Make Home Debut Friday


NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team will make its home debut at the Tennis Center on Friday, February 14 versus Louisiana Tech.  First serve is set for 2 p.m.

The Privateers (2-0) are undefeated on the season, but have not swung the racket in a match since picking up a 4-1 win over Alcorn State on February 3.  On the season, New Orleans is undefeated in singles play, having a 4-0 mark in dual action.

In singles play, Soledad Calerdon Arroyo, Hafsa Laraibi and Anna Segarra Ruis all are undefeated with Calderon and Laraibi each sporting a 2-0 mark. 

Louisiana Tech (2-1) has put together back-to-back wins after an opening day 5-2 loss to Florida Gulf Coast.  The clubs most recent win came at Central Arkansas by the score of 6-1.  On the season, The Lady Techsters are led by Alexandra Starkova with a 3-0 singles record with two of those wins coming at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.

First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the Tennis Center.
