FRISCO, Texas –
Fleur Sprengers and
Kateryna Kalistratova finished up strong regular seasons with being named Second Team All-Southland in singles as the all-conference teams were released on Friday morning.
Sprengers and Kalistratova combined for a 27-5 record in singles at flight one and two respectively during the 2026 campaign.
Sprengers was automatic for the Privateers at flight one, winning 14 of her first 15 matches on the season. Only once in her wins was she carried to three sets and the sophomore sported a 6-3 Southland record.
The sophomore now has 25 singles wins in her first two years on the Lakefront which already ranks her inside the top 20 in program history since full records were kept in 1997. She also had nine doubles wins while paired with
Danique Vermue. The duo combined for four conference wins, three of them coming at flight one.
Kalistratova put together an excellent senior campaign that saw her achieve her best record in her four seasons with the Privateers. She finished 13-2 overall and 7-1 against Southland opponents. Her career win total in singles is now at 33, which ranks 13
th since '97.
The queen of the three-set matches went 5-0 in bouts that went the full three sets. She now has an active winning streak of 10 straight matches that have gone three sets. Kalistratova also went 2-0 in tiebreak sets this season.
This season marks the fourth time in the last six years the Privateer women had multiple representatives on the All-Southland team.
Estefania Gonzalez of UIW won Player of the Year and Sonia Carlsson of McNeese won Coach of the Year.
The Privateers will open the Southland tournament against McNeese on Sunday at 2 p.m.
