Privateers Open Home Slate with Southern Miss


NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team will make its home debut at the Tennis Center on Sunday, February 16 versus Southern Miss.  First serve is set for 12 p.m.

The Privateers (2-0) are undefeated on the season, but have played a match since winning 4-0 over Alcorn State on February 1.  On the season, New Orleans is 8-1 as a team in singles action and 4-1 in doubles.

In singles play, Christoffer Appelgren, Gonzolo Garcia, Blake Gregor, Romain Lefevre and Rui Silva are undefeated, with Appelgren, Gregor and Silva each 2-0 on the young season. 

Southern Miss (2-4) is coming off of a 6-1 defeat at nationally ranked LSU, with the team's only point coming in doubles.  The Golden Eagles fell victim in singles action, all in just two sets.

First serve is set for 12 p.m. at the Tennis Center with entry free to the public.
