Privateers Down Jackson State


NEW ORLEANS, La. - The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team defeated Jackson State, 4-0 on Saturday morning at the University Tennis Center.

Picking up key wins in singles were Rui Silva and Gonzolo Garcia in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the lineup, respectively.  Silva won his match over Kashyap Ashok 6-1, 6-1 while Garcia downed Hernan Geria 6-0, 6-0.  The only other match that was finished before game was decided was Romain Lefevre's victory at the No. 4 slot, defeating Ryan Swainer with ease 6-0, 6-0.

The match started off with the Privateers having success in doubles with the duo of Romain Lefevre and Blake Gregor defeating Kashyap Ashok and Jose Luque, 8-1 at No. 1 doubles, and securing the double point was Rui SIlva and Christoffer Appelgren with a 8-0 win at No. 3.
