Noibanchong Paces Privateers through Two Rounds


SUGAR LAND, Texas – The New Orleans Privateers women's golf team finished out the first day of the HBU Huskies Invitational in 11th place. Pair Noibanchong paced the Privateers with an overall 161 (+17) at the Riverbend Country Club.

Noibanchong started the day with a 78 in the first round before hitting out with an 83 in the second round to finish in 26th place. Brenda Gonzalez followed with a 169 (+25) to sit in 53rd as she improved three strokes from her first to second rounds.

Emily Pellerin opened with an 84, but struggled to find a groove in the second 18 holes to finish the day with a 175 (+31).
Showing the most improvement from round to round was Florence King with a differential of 10 shots from the two rounds. King's second round of 83 was on par with Noibanchong and Gonzalez as all three had the same total in the day's final 18. King closed the day with a 176 (+32).

Rounding out the Privateers was Bridget Landry with a 178 (+34). New Orleans will be back at the links tomorrow morning for the final round. All results from today's match are posted below.
