McNeese State Drops Shorthanded Privateers

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (6-11, 3-8 Southland) fell 6-1 to in-state and conference foe McNeese State (15-6, 10-2 Southland) at the Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Privateers only suited up four players today due to injury, as Grace Nolan, Anna Segarra Rius and Amina Mrad were sidelined.

McNeese State took full advantage of the shorthanded Privateers, taking the doubles point and all but one singles matches.  Despite being without a full lineup, the doubles team of Yasmine Rashad and Hafsa Laraibi earned an 8-5 over Anastasia Surkova and Vivien Borbely at No. 2.  Unfortunately, the doubles point was already decided.

In singles, the Privateers only win came from the No. 3 spot in the lineup with Hafsa Laraibi with a win by default over Julia Kral.

New Orleans will close out its season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday, April 21 at 1 p.m.  Official results from the match against McNeese State are below.
