CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team (6-10, 2-4 Southland) fell 6-1 to the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (17-9, 6-0 Southland) on Monday afternoon.
New Orleans lost the doubles point, falling in all three matches. The only point for the Privateers came from
Rui Silva at the No. 4 spot in the lineup, defeating Matt Westmoreland in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Christoffer Appelgren took Guillaume Russo to three sets at No. 5 singles, but lost in the tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.
Despite the loss, the postseason awaits the Privateers this weekend in Corpus Christi, Texas. New Orleans awaits its seed and its opponent in the Southland Conference Championships.
