Privateers Fall in Season Finale

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (6-12, 3-9 Southland) endured a 6-1 loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (19-5, 11-1 Southland) on Monday afternoon.

The Privateers put forth only four players due to injury, as Anna Segarra Rius, Amina Mrad and Grace Nolan sat out for the second consecutive match.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took full advantage of the shorthanded Privateers, taking the doubles point and all but one singles match.  The only win for the Privateers in singles play came from Soledad Calderon Arroyo at No. 1 by defeating Stefania Nicolae in dramatic fashion.  After losing the first set, Calderon roared back to that the three-set victory, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
