BOX SCORENEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (2-1) suffered their first defeat of the spring in a 4-0 loss to the Tulane Green Wave (4-0) on Saturday morning at City Park.
The Privateers were swiftly defeated in doubles, losing 6-2 at the 2 and 3 positions in doubles. The doubles match at the 1 position went unfinished with Tulane's top pair leading 5-2. The Green Wave finished the first three matches in singles in their favor to secure the victory.

Marta Sans, and
Yasmine Rashad each suffered their first losses of the dual season. Rashad was defeated 6-0, 6-1 by Jacqui Katz. The other two matches went decisively to Tulane as Naz Karagoz won 6-0, 6-2 over Sans and Ipek Birol helped polish off the victory with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Luethi.
New Orleans will have their first home match coming up on Tuesday against the Loyola Wolfpack. The match will take place at 2 p.m. at the University Tennis Center.
