THE GAME:The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team (2-16, 0-9) faces the same opponent for the second time in five days when they will tangle with the McNeese State Cowgirls (12-8, 6-3) on Thursday at Lakefront Arena.

The Privateers were handed an 82-58 defeat, and surrendered 11 threes against McNeese State on Saturday in Lake Charles. The 82 points given up were the most the Privateers have surrendered to a conference opponent so far this season.

McNeese State got 25 points from Allison Baggett who also connected on seven triples in the win. Talisa Boyd added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Jayln Johnson dished eight assists. It's the fourth straight win for McNeese State against New Orleans in series history.

LAST TIME OUT:The Privateers fell behind 13-2 at the start and could never recover in an 82-58 loss to McNeese State on Saturday at Burton Coliseum. The Cowgirls had four players in double figures in the victory. New Orleans was led by
Halie Matthews who had a career-high 14 points along with six rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.
Jewel Angelo added 11 points on 5-of-10 from the field.

The Privateers had their most free throw makes in a game, converting 18-of-22 attempts on Saturday at McNeese State. The 81.8 percent clip was the best mark this season in five games where the Privateers had at least 20 free throw attempts.

YOU LOOK FAMILIAR:
The Privateers will cap off a home-and-home with McNeese State, marking the first time since 2007-08 that New Orleans faced the same opponent in consecutive games. The last occurrence was when New Orleans closed the regular season against North Texas, and faced the Mean Green in the opening round of the Sun Belt Tournament.

Halie Matthews led the Privateers in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks while posting a career-high 14 points on Saturday. Matthews became the first Privateer this season to lead the team in four different categories in a game.
