MONROE, La. – The New Orleans sand volleyball team suffered a setback on Tuesday evening, falling to UL-Monroe 5-0 at the ULM Sand Volleyball Courts.

The Privateers were competitive in several sets during the outing, starting off with
Cara Sander and
Mikayla Sellers-Wiebe at the No. 1 spot. The tandem put up a 21-19 fight in the opening set before falling in another close one, 21-12, to end the match.

Brooklyn Frank and
Lauren Levy then hit double-figures in both sets at No. 2, taking 21-12 and 21-13 losses to fall in the match. The Privateers then fell at both No. 3 and No. 4, 21-6, 21-10 and 21-13, 21-6.

At No. 5
Ashley Everett and Courtney Roblez held strong in both sets, ULM coming out on top in both, however, 21-15, 21-16, to end things for New Orleans.

New Orleans will wrap-up its inaugural sand volleyball season this weekend, April 18-19, as the Privateers head to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Battle on the Bayou.
