BEAUMONT, Texas – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (15-11) saw their conference tournament run come to an end in the semifinals, falling 4-2 to the Northwestern State Lady Demons (15-8) on Saturday at the Beaumont Tennis Complex.

The Privateers fell in the doubles point as Northwestern State's top tandem of Tatiana Larina and Natalya Krutova got an 8-3 victory to start the proceedings for the Lady Demons. An 8-5 win at #3 doubles sealed the first point for Northwestern State.

In singles, the Privateers took a brief lead after the first two matches to finish were in their favor.
Anja Luethi coasted to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Aliona Ladutska at #3 singles.
Hafsa Laraibi followed with a 6-2, 6-2, win at #6 singles topping Emily Kerr. The Lady Demons then took the next three matches including a three-set bout at the 2 spot to clinch the match.

Larina and Kateryna Piatakova both earned straight set wins to put Northwestern State ahead 3-2. The clinching point was earned when Krutova won 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 over
Marta Sans to push the Lady Demons into the finals.

The Privateers ended the season with a plus-9 win differential from last season and finished the year by winning five of their last seven matches.
