NEW ORLEANS – University of New Orleans head coach
Millicent Van Norden announced the signing of
Amanda Wurster, a 5-9 setter out of Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. She will be a dual athlete, competing in indoor and beach volleyball.
A four-time USAV high performance participant, Wurster is undefeated in district play during her high school career. Overall, her varsity record as a member of Dawson stands at 66-13. The academic all-district honoree qualified for USAV Beach Nationals.
"I'm looking forward to Amanda joining our budding program," said Van Norden. "She's been committed to becoming a Privateer for some time and will add the depth we need at her position indoor, and the quality we need to continue to grow and develop our beach program. She's a true competitor and will add character, skill and athleticism to both clubs. Her athletic resume speaks for itself and she will become an integral part of our future success."
The young indoor program lost just one senior in
Ro Bryant following Thursday's match at Houston Baptist University.
