New Orleans- Â After the best offensive performance of the season, the University of New Orleans women's basketball team returns to action Sunday, December 17, when they face the ULM Warhawks (2-5) at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, Louisiana.

UNO (2-7) ran away with Xavier University of Louisiana, 85-50, shooting a season's best 33-of-53 (62.3 percent). That shooting percentage is the best by a team in the Southland Conference (SLC) this season.

Randi Brown leading the way for the Privateers with 29 points against the Gold Nuggets. Brown, from Houma, Louisiana, is the leading scorer in the Southland Conference knocking down an average of 21.0 a game. The senior is third in 3-pointers made (27) 3.0 an outing and fifth in steals (2.6) in the Southland Conference.

Kayla Mundy had perhaps the best game of her career---8-of-9 from the field, 2-of-2 on 3-pointers for a total of 18 points on the day. The McKinney, Texas product also grabbed 8 rebounds and had 3 assists.

Shania Woods is New Orleans' top rebounder at 7.6 per game, good enough for third in the SLC. She averages 9 points a contest and has registered two double-doubles this season.

ULM dropped its most recent game to Rice, 63-47. The Warhawks played the game without leading scorer Gabriella Cortez who rested a knee injury she suffered against Louisiana Tech. Cortez, from Natchitoches, Louisiana, averages 15 points and 6 rebounds a contest.

ULM is a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

The next time the Privateers take the court will be a home game at Lakefront Arena, Thursday, December 21 when Texas Southern comes to town. Tipoff is set for 7 p. m.
