Beach Volleyball Set For Busy Weekend At Badger Beach Bash

Gulf Shores, Alabama- The University of New Orleans beach volleyball team opens its second week of competition with a trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama for two days of matches at the Badger Beach Bash, hosted by Spring Hill College, Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 11-12.
 
The Privateers (1-2) will play four matches over two days, opening Saturday at Noon against Huntington College.  At 5 p. m. New Orleans will face Florida Atlantic University. Sunday, UNO will start the day at Noon facing Austin Peay.   The Privateers defeated the Governors last week at the Blazer Beach Duals in Birmingham, Alabama, 5-0.  UNO will close competition for the weekend against the host school Spring Hill College at 5 p. m.
 
The highlight of the first week for New Orleans was the performance of the tandem of Cara Sander, a redshirt junior and freshman Victoria Corcoran as they went 2-0 with victories over Avei Logoleo and Erika Zembyla of UAB, 21-15, 15-21, 15-5 and a 21-14, 21-15 win over Ginny Gerig and Jenna Panning of Austin Peay.
 
After the busy weekend, the New Orleans beach volleyball team will return to action on Thursday, Mar. 16, when they travel to Monroe, Louisiana to face Louisiana-Monroe at 2 p. m.
