CHOUDRANT, La. – University of New Orleans golf concluded its second tournament of 2017-18 with a season-low 302, closing out the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate in 14
th. The Privateers' 302 was good for 12
th (tied) Tuesday afternoon at Squire Creek Golf Course.
The story of the day was
Parker Johnson, New Orleans' No. 1, improving by five strokes to tie
Brady Bennett and
Ulisses de Toledo Junior with a 75. He began the Louisiana Tech University hosted tourney with an 82 and ended Monday with an 80. All in all, Bennett finished in the top 50 with a 75 across all three rounds and de Toledo Junior followed at 226.
The University of South Florida won as a club with a team score of 843 (21-under-par). Louisiana Tech led Tuesday with a 283 (five-under) to place third behind USF and Southland Conference's Stephen F. Austin State University (-8).
Christian DiMarco (-8) won the individual crown but Tuesday's leader was the Bulldogs' Joacim Ahlund, who shot a 68 on the par-72 course.
