New Orleans-  The University of New Orleans women's basketball team returns home, Saturday, Nov. 17 when they'll face Trinity Baptist College of Jacksonville, Florida at Lakefront Arena.  Tipoff is set for 2 p. m.

New Orleans (1-1) is coming off a road-loss to the University of Pittsburgh on the road, 90-38.  They opened the season at home with a 104-42 victory over Centenary College of Louisiana on Nov. 6.

In the win over the Ladies of Centenary, three Privateers notched career-highs in scoring. Sophomore guard
Jada Duncantell (18 points),
Alyssa Quixley (16 points) and junior post player Whitley Lary (14 points). Lary, from Rayne, Louisiana, also had a game-high 9 rebounds.

Shania Woods is off to a good start.  The Houston, Texas native leads UNO in scoring (12.5) and rebounding (6.5). As usual, Woods is shooting at a high percentage hitting .550 of her shots.Â

Traya Bruce are the other Privateers averaging double figures in scoring. Duncantell averages 10 points a game while Bruce his scoring 10 a contest as well as leading the club in assists with six a contest.

Bruce, from Cut Off, Louisiana, displayed her scoring potential in an exhibition win against West Alabama when she knocked down 26 points, going 6-of-9 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line.

The Eagles of Trinity Baptist compete at the Division II level of the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA). They come into the contest with a 1-3 record, their lone win of the season came by forfeit when it was ruled an ineligible player was used by Southeastern Baptist College.

After facing Trinity Baptist College, the Privateers will have six days between contests. Their next outing will be at Lakefront Arena on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p. m. when the University of Louisiana-Monroe comes to town.
