Parker Johnson Shoots Low Score On Day One At Atchafalaya Intercollegiate

Freshman is tied for 10th after 36 holes

DAY ONE RESULTS

Patterson, Louisiana-
Freshman Parker Johnson shot the lowest score for the University of New Orleans golf team during the first 36 holes of the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate held at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild in Patterson, Louisiana.

Johnson, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, shot a 36-hole, 5-over-par, 149, during the first day.  He is 8 strokes behind the individual leader, Alvaro Hernandez of UT-Rio Grande Valley.  The Privateers are in fifth-place in the 10-team tournament after shooting a 31-over-par score of 607, 22 strokes behind the leading squad, UT-Rio Grande Valley, after 36 holes.

 UNO's Jackson Smith is in a tie for 18th after the junior from Tyler, Texas shot a 7-over-par, 151---10 shots behind the leader.

The third and final round of the tournament hosted by Nicholls State tees off Tuesday morning at 8 a. m.
