BATON ROUGE, La. – The University of New Orleans (4-16) dominated its way to a 4-1 victory over Jacksonville State University (2-22) in the finale of the Battle of the Bayou Sunday at Mango's Beach Volleyball Club. The Privateers split Sunday as the win followed a 5-0 setback to No. 11 Georgia State University (21-9).
Versus the Gamecocks,
Madison Miller and
Rhyan Rand took the exhibition 22-20, 21-14,
Ally Carr and
Maxine Walsh came up victorious at No. 5 21-14, 21-19 and
Blessing Dunn and
Brianna Vega extended the UNO lead to 2-0 with a 21-15, 18-21, 15-9 win at No. 4.
Cara Sander and
Victoria Corcoran clinched the victory for New Orleans, defeating Katie Will and Sadie Anderson 21-17, 21-11 at the top flight.
Rachel Kuhn and
Veronica Corcoran took No. 2 21-10, 22-20.
At No. 3,
Jordan Schumacher and
Kaitlyn Grice forced a third set with a 21-19 win in the second.
