NEW ORLEANS – Rachel Kuhn and
Veronica Corcoran were busy Sunday with six total sets across the two matches and the duo defeated No. 19 Tulane University at No. 2 at White Sand Beach Volleyball Courts. However, the University of New Orleans (3-14) fell to the University of Central Arkansas 4-1 in the opener and the Green Wave 4-1 in the finale of the Tulane Green Wave Invitational.
Taking the opening set for a 1-0 lead versus the Sugar Bears, Haley Tippett and Megan Nash were able to escape with a win but in the latter match against the Green Wave, Kuhn and
Veronica Corcoran showed poise in a close battle with Anna Chin and Lauren Orlich 21-17, 17-21, 15-13.
Against UCA,
Cara Sander and
Victoria Corcoran won in straight sets 21-15, 21-15 at the top dual. A close battle at No. 3 between the Sugar Bears and
Jordan Schumacher and
Kaitlyn Grice ultimately went in favor of Central Arkansas 21-10, 24-22.
Maxine Walsh and
Ally Carr threatened at No. 5 with a 24-22 win in the first set but fell in three.
Grice and
Blessing Dunn erased a 21-14 loss in the opening set at No. 4 versus Tulane with a 21-13 win to force a third and Walsh and Carr took the opening set 21-19 at No. 5.

The Privateers take on the University of Central Arkansas and Tulane University Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Live stats and video will be available and Cox Sports Television will televise the top two duals.
