BATON ROUGE, La. – The University of New Orleans (10-8) heads to the state capital for the Battle on the Bayou at the new LSU Beach Volleyball Beach Stadium April 12-13. The Privateers take on the University of Louisiana Monroe (15-12) at 3:45 p.m. and No. 4 LSU (21-5) at 6:15 p.m. Friday, and Spring Hill College (13-7) at 10:45 a.m. and Nicholls State University (0-8) at 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
Friday's No. 1 matches will be televised on Cox Sports Television (CST). The match versus the nationally-ranked Tigers will be streamed via LSU YouTube.

2019 AT A GLANCE
Already the best season since becoming a program in 2015, the Privateers are 10-8 this season with wins over three of this weekend's opponents.
Veronica Corcoran and
Rachel Kuhn are 14-4 at No. 1 and will look to continue their great season as the top duo.
Blessing Dunn and
Brianna Vega have seven wins at No. 2 after a midseason change,
Victoria Corcoran and
Ally Carr are 8-6 at No. 3, and
Madison Miller and
Rhyan Rand compiled nine wins at No. 4.
Alexa Spartz and
Maxine Walsh are 8-5 at No. 5. Last week, head coach
Millicent Van Norden's duo at No. 5 of
Ehize Omoghibo and
Alexa Spartz upended the University of Central Arkansas in straight sets, but the match was unfinished due to weather.
ABOUT ULM
The Privateers and Warhawks split the regular season series thus far, with UNO taking the first meeting 3-2 (March 29).
Raegan Rozas and Omoghibo won the exhibition, Rand and Miller took No. 4,
Veronica Corcoran and Kuhn were victorious at the top spot to put UNO ahead 2-1 and Dunn and Vega's win at No. 2 clinched the win for the Privateers.
Last week, ULM avenged its loss with a 4-1 win. Rozas and Spartz took the exhibition and
Veronica Corcoran and Kuhn won in straight sets at No. 1.
The early season win was UNO's first over ULM as the Warhawks won the first 10 meetings and enter the weekend 11-1 against the Blue and Silver.
ULM went 2-1 at the ULM Warhawk Challenge last season.
ABOUT LSU
Ranked No. 4 in the AVCA national poll, the Tigers are in the midst of their first season at the new LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium. LSU has won eight in a row and enter 9-0 at home. Claire Coppola and Kirsten Nuss are 23-3 at No. 1 with wins in each of the last eight matches at the top spot. Allison Coens and Hunter Domanski are 20-5 at No. 5.
LSU is 7-0 against UNO.
ABOUT SPRING HILL
The Privateers avenged its first loss of the season to the Badgers to dominate their way to a 4-1 win in the opening match of the March to May.
Veronica Corcoran and Kuhn are 2-0 this season versus SHC. In the 4-1 win, Walsh and Spartz took No. 5 and
Victoria Corcoran and Carr (No. 3) and Dunn and Vega (No. 2) downed their respective opponents.
SHC is 10-2 versus the Privateers.
ABOUT NICHOLLS
UNO blanked Nicholls in its inaugural match as a beach volleyball program, beginning the 2019 campaign with a 5-0 win (March 1). The Colonels are searching for their first win of the season.
AT THE BATTLE ON THE BAYOU
UNO is 1-8 at the Battle on the Bayou, however the Privateers enter after concluding the two-day tournament with a 4-1 win over Jacksonville State University last season.
