BATON ROUGE, La. – Veronica Corcoran and
Rachel Kuhn defeated Grace Convey and Tamara Merseli 21-17, 21-10 at No. 1 and
Victoria Corcoran and
Ally Carr cruised to a 21-12, 21-14 win at No. 3, but the University of New Orleans (10-10) was on the wrong end of 3-2 and 5-0 matches Friday at LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium. The Privateers fell to the University of Louisiana Monroe (15-13) and No. 4 LSU (22-5), respectively.
The Privateers had a chance to clinch a win over the Warhawks at No. 2 as
Blessing Dunn and
Brianna Vega took the opening set over Maile Sellers and Catherine Griffith 28-26. In a third set, ULM was able to squeak past UNO 15-11.
At No. 4,
Rhyan Rand and
Madison Miller nearly erased a deficit before ULM took the first set 21-19.
Ehize Omoghibo and
Alexa Spartz were upended at No. 5 21-17, 21-16.
Nationally-ranked LSU was able to improve to 11-0 at home this season at the new LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium.
SCHEDULE CHANGE
Weather in Baton Rouge forced changes to tomorrow's schedule. The Privateers take on Spring Hill College at 8:45 a.m. and Nicholls State University at 11:15 a.m.
