SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of New Orleans (18-19) heads to Hammons Field for a three-game series versus the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Champion Missouri State University (11-25) Thursday-Saturday. The Privateers and Bears begin the series with 6:30 p.m. contests Thursday and Friday with the finale scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
Opened in 2004, Hammons Field is home to the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Privateers are 13-6 in nonconference games this season.

Thursday will be Holstein's first weekend start. The right-hander has tossed 11.0 consecutive scoreless innings heading into the series. Turpin is the reigning Southland Conference and Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Pitcher of the Week after dominating the McNeese State University Cowboys with 8.0 shutout frames. The right-hander struck out a season-high 14 batters. Swift earned his first collegiate victory two weekends ago versus Southeastern Louisiana University.

Reeves Martin shut the door for his 10
th save of the season to clinch the Pelican Cup for the Privateers in a 15-10 victory over Tulane University. On the year, Martin is 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 22.0 innings. He has been virtually unhittable, allowing 11 hits and limiting opponents to a .149 clip.
Mathew Oset is 4-1 with a 3.21 ERA.
Christopher DeMayo struck out three in relief Tuesday.
