NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers will play their final regular season series at Maestri Field when they take on the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders. The series starts on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Preceding Saturday's scheduled contest, we will be honoring 19 seniors for their contributions to the Privateer baseball program as part of our Senior Day festivities. All games will be on ESPN+. The final two games of the weekend will also air on 106.7 FM The Ticket.

The Privateers moved to 5-2 in extra inning games as they took a 10-inning contest by the score of 9-6 against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
Lane Alack locked down his team-leading fourth save of the year and the Privateers scored six runs in the last three innings.
The Privateers were hit seven times on Tuesday night against Louisiana, the most this season. Their 10 walks drawn marked the third game they took double digit free passes from an opponent in 2026. The Privateers have been hit 71 times, which is tied for second in the Southland.
Luke Hymel turned in his second longest scoreless outing of the season when he fired three shutout frames against Louisiana while allowing no hits. Hymel threw five shutout innings in a win against Tulane on Mar. 17.
Evan Rogers has done equal damage against left-handed and right-handed pitching. Rogers is hitting .313 on the season and has a batting average north of .300 against both lefties (53 at-bats) and righties (123 at-bats). Rogers is also hitting .354 in 31 at-bats over his last nine games.
The Privateers are 18-15 all-time against the Islanders. There have been four series sweeps in the all-time series. The Islanders have won all three games of the weekend in 2014 and 2025. The Privateers accomplished that feat in 2016 and 2018.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Islanders (23-25) are one game up on the Privateers and one behind HCU for the final spot in the Southland tournament. In their midweek game, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi fell 10-1 to Houston. Cade Sanchez has been consistently pacing the league in batting average. He is hitting .360 coming into the weekend. Christian Smith-Johnson is one of three players in the Southland with at least 20 stolen bases.
