MONROE, La. – Victoria Corcoran and
Ally Carr went 2-0 at No. 3 on day one of the ULM Warhawk Challenge, but the University of New Orleans (10-7) fell to Houston Baptist University 4-1 and Missouri State University 3-2 at the ULM Beach Volleyball Courts Friday.
Victoria Corcoran and Carr eased past Kylie Bryan and Lindsay Harris in the opening match 21-16, 21-10.
Alexa Spartz and
Raegan Rozas won the exhibition over HBU 22-10, 21-16. At No. 5,
Ehize Omoghibo and
Maxine Walsh erased an early deficit to take the second set 21-14 and force a tiebreaker.
In the top flight,
Veronica Corcoran and
Rachel Kuhn did the same, taking the second set 21-16 before falling in a close third 16-14.
Versus the Lady Bears,
Victoria Corcoran and Carr downed Sydney LeMay and Veronica Snelling 21-17, 21-15 to tie the match at 1-1.
Kuhn and
Veronica Corcoran did the same, tying the match at 2-2 taking the top flight 21-19, 19-21, 15-11, as the No. 2 became the decisive match.
Blessing Dunn and
Brianna Vega won the opening set 21-18 before falling in a close second 25-23. The duo remained within striking distance by Chloee McDaniel and Mikaela Mosquera took No. 2 15-13.
