BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The New Orleans track & field program continued to impress as the Privateers closed the Samford Invite No. 2 on another high note at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday.

NOTABLES

Aaron Worrell showed out once again in both the men's long and high jump as he won the long jump with a new personal best leap of 7.24m and placed third in the high jump with a best clearance of 2.05m.
- Joining him with strong performances in the long jump were
Michael Strong (third overall, 7.07m) and
Alex Hawkins (fifth, 6.77m).
- The Privateer men impressed in the 3000m race as
David Hidalgo placed third overall with a new personal best of 8:44.26.
Kristian Oatman was right behind him in fifth at 8:48.02 and
Cade Litolff rounded out the New Orleans attack in ninth with a personal record of 8:56.41.

Alec Snell went off in the men's 800m dash as he recorded a fourth-place finish with a new personal best time of 1:55.74, which was also a new freshman program record.

Harrison Coleman claimed fourth overall in the men's 400m dash as he recorded a new personal best of 48.86.
- Both
Matthew Clarke and
Kemar Cumberbatch advanced to the finals of the men's 60m dash as Clarke took fifth overall at 6.98 and Cumberbatch came in seventh with a time of 7.06, respectively.
- Freshman
Anna Martin came in 11
th in the women's mile with a new personal record of 5:27.79. The time ranks 29
th so far in the Southland conference.
- Both
Julian Silva and
Lucas Marcello set new personal bests in the men's mile as they posted times of 4:28.20 and 4:28.62 to finish 11
th and 13
th overall.

Matthew Christy took seventh overall with a new personal best toss of 12.89m in the shot put. The showing currently ranks 11
th in the conference.
- The Privateers continued their strong indoor season as they set another 18 personal bests tonight.

UP NEXT
Like coach mentioned, the Privateers will have one more go in the indoor regular season as the group heads to Baton Rouge for the LSU Twilight on Friday, Feb. 21. All focus will then turn to the Southland Conference Indoor Championships, set for Sunday, March 1 – Monday, March 2 at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
