DAY ONE RESULTS
NEW ORLEANS – Privateer Golf continued its solid start to the season finishing the first two rounds of the Grover Page Classic in third-place with a score of 569 on Monday afternoon.
Once again
Brady Bennett led the way for the Privateers after a pair of rounds at 68 gave him a score of 136 – tying him for second-place overall through two rounds. The former Zachary Bronco has now finished five of the last six rounds under 70, and all eight of his rounds this season under par.

Kyle Bennett each finished tied for 15th with scores of 143. Both followed up a 74 in the first round with a five-stroke improvement in round two. During the second round, Grayson sank five birdies on the first eight holes of the front-nine.
After a slow start in his collegiate debut, Kyle finished his last 26 holes with an eagle, six birdies, and just two bogeys. His eagle on hole 15 of the first round was the second eagle of the season for the Privateers. With Kyle's debut, the Bennett brothers became the 25th pair of siblings, male or female, to play together in collegiate golf this season.
Florian Moosmeier,
Henry Augenstein, and
Thomas Artigas (making his season debut) all finished in the top-25 for the Privateers as well. Moosmeier finished tied for 19th at 144, while Augenstein and Artigas each finished tied for 25th at 146.
New Orleans sank 46 birdies – tied with UT-Martin for the tournament lead.
Brady Bennett led the way with 14, while Gilbert had 11, Augenstein had nine, Moosmeier and
Kyle Bennett each had seven, and Artigas had five.
Entering the final round, the Privateers trail second-place Tennessee Tech by a single stroke and sit 10 strokes behind UT-Martin in first-place. The final round tees off tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. and live scoring can be found on

"I'm proud of the guys today. We didn't really have our best stuff but they fought and put up two solid rounds."
"Obviously I wish we would have finished off the second round better. That's one of the things we must learn to get better doing. When we get 10, 11, 12 under-par we must keep the pressure on and finish it off. We made too many double bogeys and didn't make as many putts as I would have liked. It's a process to learn how to become a winning golf team and we have to learn to clean up these mistakes if we want to be the team we are capable of being."

"It's nice to see how well Kyle played in his first collegiate action. You never quite know what to expect until someone's under the pressure of tournament golf. He got off to a rocky start but played nicely in his last 27 holes today. I'm interested to see how he handles bouncing back tomorrow from a good round this afternoon."
