NEW ORLEANS – The Privateers baseball team has a couple of schedule changes to formally announce ahead of the 2021 season. Both changes reflect scheduled non-conference weekends.
New Orleans will now take on Alcorn State during opening weekend in a three-game series. The weekend was originally going to feature the Privateers participating in the Andre Dawson Classic against Alabama State, Alcorn State, and Jackson State.
The other change reflects the third weekend of the season. Where Valparaiso was originally scheduled to come to the Big Easy, they have now been replaced by Bradley. The series will start on Mar. 5 and first pitch will be a 6 p.m. for the first night. The second and third game of the weekend will be at 12 p.m.
This season will be the first time the Privateers will square off against Bradley on the diamond since 1975. New Orleans is 3-1 all-time against the Braves.
New Orleans won the lone meeting against Alcorn State last year and is 10-0 all-time against the Lorman, Miss. based school.
