COMPLETE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS | FINAL TEAM STANDINGS
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The New Orleans track & field program concluded a record-setting indoor season as the Privateers wrapped up the final day of the 2021 Southland Conference Indoor Championships with both the men's and women's teams setting new program bests team finish and points score since joining the conference at the Birmingham Crossplex on Monday.

BEST FINISH AND TEAM POINT TOTALS SINCE JOINING THE SOUTHLAND
- Both the men's and women's programs posted their best performances at an indoor championship meet since joining the Southland. The men collected 40 points (besting its old conference mark by 20) while the women captured 48 points (beat the old record by a 26-point margin). The men recorded a four-spot improvement over its previous Southland best and the women bested their old mark by seven positions.
CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

Shamarah Shannon put an exclamation point on what looks to be a breakout campaign as she won the silver medal in the women's 200-meter dash and ran to a sixth-place showing in the 60. She posted a 24.65 in the 200, a top-10 time in UNO history, and a 7.70 in the 60. With her performance in the Privateers DMR squad on Sunday, Shannon was responsible for 19 points.
- The freshman did it again as
Jaden Forester placed second overall in the men's mile with a new PR of 4:16.95. The mark now sits inside the Top-10 in school history.

Ismael Kone went off and claimed the silver medal in the men's 60-meter dash with a 6.85 performance. The time was a new personal best and slots in at No. 3 all-time in program history.
- Another newcomer in
Anna Dohmen put on a show in the women's mile as she posted a new personal best of 4:59.74 to place fourth overall. The time is the second-fastest recorded in the event in UNO history.
- Standout thrower
Shanell Atkins continued her strong start with the Privateers as the transfer student-athlete advanced to the finals of the women's shot put and placed fifth overall with a new UNO personal best of 13.98m. The showing gave Atkins 14 points scored as an individual at the championship meet.

Alec Snell added some more points for the Privateer men as he finished sixth overall in the 800 with a time of 1:55.32.
- Forester also added a ninth-place showing in the men's 3000 (8:29.24) while
Kolyn Saltzman took 10th (8:29.51), respectively.

Matthew Christy led the way with a ninth-place finish after a huge personal-best toss of 14.32m in the men's shot put.
Vojislav Gvero was right behind in 10
th with a personal record of 13.71m.

Ariana Jimenez paced the women's distance group as she took 21st in the 3000 finals with a personal best of 10:29.22.
