FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference volleyball teams were announced on Tuesday afternoon and senior,
Shelby Pullins earned Third Team honors.
In her senior season, Pullins dominated at the net as she finished tied for fourth in blocks per set. Pullins recorded 1.00 blocks per set and had 48 total in 48 sets played. Pullins started the season with a season best eight blocks, which she recorded twice (vs. Tulane, at Lamar).
Pullins also finished the season with a .281 attack percentage, which ranked tenth best in the Southland Conference. On the season, Pullins had four matches with at least 10 attempts and an attack percentage of over .400.
The Detroit native had four matches without an attack error. The most kills she recorded without an attack error was against Southern Miss when Pullins had nine.
Pullins recorded 0.96 blocks per set in her two seasons with the Privateers. That total ranks seventh best among all Privateers in program history. Pullins had 111 total blocks in 116 sets played over 36 matches as a Privateer.
With the nod, Pullins becomes the fifth different Privateer since 2017 to earn a spot on the Southland postseason team joining Kaitlyn Grice, Blessing Dunn,
Ehize Omoghibo and
Lucie Pokorna.
