Beach Defeats No. 4 UCA, will Take on No. 2 HBU in Elimination Match Tomorrow at 11 a.m.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – No. 5 New Orleans (8-15) defeated No. 4 Central Arkansas (17-15) 3-2 before falling to No. 1 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (15-11) 3-0 on a windy Friday at the Islander Courts at the Water's Edge. The Privateers advance to take on No. 2 HBU tomorrow in an elimination match at 11 a.m.

Should UNO defeat the Huskies, the Privateers move on to the semifinals at 1 p.m.
 
Ally Carr and Maxine Walsh dominated in the opening set at No. 2, en route to a 21-8, 21-19 victory. The duo was also winning the second set against the Islanders prior to the match being called.
 
Twins Veronica Corcoran and Victoria Corcoran rallied in a marathon opening set in the top dual, downing the Beach Bears 28-26 before cruising to a 21-13 win.
 
Trinity Jackson and Hannah Volpi clinched the historic moment for UNO as the No. 5 pair won 21-19, 21-19, to give the Privateers the 3-2 victory over Central Arkansas.

The win was UNO's first postseason victory and the inaugural match of the Southland Conference Championship. The league added beach volleyball last season.
