Volleyball Programs Relocate to Lafayette

NEW ORLEANS – Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Ida both Privateer Volleyball programs, and their support staffs will temporarily relocate to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

"I know the past few days have been full of challenges. Our main focus has been ensuring our student-athletes are safe" said Tim Duncan, Vice President for Athletics and Recreation.

"Our indoor and beach volleyball teams are en route to Lafayette and will operate out of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the time being. We are appreciative of Athletic Director Dr. Bryan Maggard and his entire staff for their support at this time."

Ida forced the cancelation of the Privateers scheduled home match against Alcorn State, as well as a trip of the University of Jacksonville to face Jacksonville, UNC-Wilmington and Drake. They are currently set to return to the court on Sept. 8 at Auburn.

More information about other programs in the department will be made available in due time on UNOPrivateers.com, and the department's various social media accounts.
