FINAL RESULTS (PDF)
NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans Track and Field took a big step up in competition when they competed in the 2022 Texas Aggie Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The men finished in fifth-place with a score of 49 points, while the women finished sixth with a score of 46 points.
DYSON WINS THE WEIGHT THROW / FINISHES FIFTH IN SHOT PUT
Samantha Dyson won the women's weight throw with a throw of 16.59 meters beating Kristin McDuffie of Southland rival Northwestern State by one-tenth of a meter. The junior also finished top-5 in the shot put with a throw of 13.17 meters.
DISTANCE WOMEN HAVE SUCCESS
Fresh off one of the best cross country campaigns in school history the Privateer distance women had success with
Alexandra Weir finishing third in the women's mile at 4:53.97, freshman
Mathilde Helms-Kjaer finishing fourth in the women's 3000 at 10:21.04.
Anna Martin also turned in a personal best time of 10:34.10 in the women's 3000.
GREEN FINISHES SECOND IN THE WOMEN'S 200
In women's sprints
Vivette Green finished in second-place in the women's 200 with a time of 24.39.
CUMMINGS SPRINTS AHEAD FOR UNO
Elliot Cummings finished third in the men's 60 with a time of 6.82 - a .10 second improvement from his time during the preliminary runs.
PARKER McBRIDE WINS 800 - MEN'S DISTANCE RUNS WELL
Not to be outdone by the women the Privateer men had success in the distance events as well. In his first race with the Privateers graduate transfer
Parker McBride won the 800 ahead of teammate
Alec Snell with a time 1:52.53. Snell finished in second-place with a time of 1:54.49.
Kolyn Saltzman finished third in the men's 3000 with a personal best time of 8:26.04. Freshman
Gary Sandrock set a personal best in the same event with an 8:52.58.
Jaden Forester and
Cade Litolff set personal bests in the men's mile with a time of 4:14.88 and 4:16.99 - good for fourth and ninth place respectively.
MURPHY LEAPS TO PERSONAL BEST
Jumping in his second meet in a row
Christopher Murphy set a new personal best in the long jump with a leap of 6.88 meters - good for fourth place.

New Orleans Track and Field takes a week off before heading to the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama for the USA Invitational hosted by South Alabama on Feb. 6. Information on coverage of the meet will be made public as it's available.
