NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will head to Monroe this weekend to take part in the ULM Beach Invitational at ULM Sand Volleyball Courts. The tournament starts on Friday for the Privateers at 11 a.m.
New Orleans will face Mary Hardin-Baylor, Southeastern, ULM and Central Arkansas. The Privateers will be playing Southeastern and Central Arkansas for the third time this season. It will be the first meeting against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Central Arkansas this season.
The Privateers (10-10) went 1-3 in their last outing at the UNO Invitational in Kenner. The Privateers were narrowly defeated 3-2 by two opponents: Southeastern and Spring Hill.
There are three more tournaments for the Privateers before the Southland Championships which take place in the last week in April at Third Coast in Houston.
Lucie Pokorna and
Ania Esarte are at a 13-6 mark for the season after going 3-1 with wins against Nicholls, Southeastern and Spring Hill.
Since
Valerie Vujnovich and
Liz Gialanella have been paired, the duo engineered seven wins at flight five for the Privateers.
New Orleans will play Mary Hardin-Baylor and Southeastern on Friday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The tournament concludes on Saturday with matches against ULM (9 a.m.) and Central Arkansas (1 p.m.).
