NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (6-3) will play Thursday at the University Tennis Center when they face the Loyola Wolfpack at 2 p.m. at the University Tennis Center.
The Privateers have played six of their first nine matches away from the University Tennis Center this season. At home, New Orleans is 2-1 with wins against Jacksonville State and ULM.
On the season, New Orleans has won 80 percent of their doubles matches (20-5).
Ank Vullings and
Estelle Vanthier have gone 7-1 at flight two doubles.
Marthe Degeorges has a 7-2 mark in doubles: 5-1 with
Lina Hohnhold and 2-1 with
Salma Abdelrahim.
In singles,
Mar Gendra leads the squad with a 6-2 record. All six of Gendra's wins have come in straight sets this season.
The Privateers have had the measure of the Wolfpack, beating them in nine straight matches since 2000. Last year, New Orleans was scheduled to play Loyola but the match was postponed and later canceled.
Loyola is coming off a win against Dillard and is on a four-match winning streak. Loyola has wins against Xavier, Mobile and Dillard twice in that stretch.
