Beach Volleyball Falls to HBU in Semifinal Round

HOUSTON, Tx.- Privateers Beach Volleyball fall to HBU in the semifinal round of the Southland Beach Volleyball Conference Tournament at Third Coast Volleyball Club on Sunday. The Privateers conclude their season 20 -15.

Day 1
New Orleans punched their ticket to the semifinals on the first day. The Privateers advanced to the winner's bracket with a 3-1 decision over defending Southland Conference tournament champion and host HBU. UNO's top pair of Lucie Pokorna and Ania Esarte secured the clinching point after taking a marathon second set, 26-24, to win in straight sets.

The Islanders won the dual with a 3-0 win against the Privateers in straight sets on courts 2-4.

The Privateers dug deep but fell in early leads put up by the Huskies on courts two, three, and five. Ivana DeCarvahlo and Liz Gialanella gave the Privateers their only win in straight sets over HBU.
