Women's Tennis Plays Final Road Match of Season at Nicholls, Host SLU

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team will take on the Nicholls Colonels and the Southeastern Lady Lions in a critical conference swing. The matches will be on Thursday and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 12 p.m. respectively.

New Orleans split a pair of conference road matches in Texas last week. The Privateers were defeated 6-1 by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi but bounced back on Sunday to top the UIW Cardinals 5-2. In the course of defeating UIW, the Privateers won the doubles point for the 11th time this season.

New Orleans enters the week fourth in the conference standings, one game back of Nicholls (3-1). Southeastern sits in a tie for fifth at 1-4 in conference play.

It's the last week on the road for the Privateers who will return to the University Tennis Center for their last matches of the regular season against Southern Miss and Xavier (La.).

Lina Hohnhold is at 11-1 for the season and 4-0 in conference play. Hohnhold has won 11 consecutive singles matches. Salma Abdelrahim is at eight singles wins for the season after notching one of the five points for the Privateers against UIW.
