NEW ORLEANS – A strong second round vaulted the University of New Orleans Golf team up seven places on the leaderboard and was backed up by a solid third round that moved the Privateers to a fourth-place finish at the Derek Dolenc Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

HEAD COACH JEFF LORIO
"I'm really proud of the effort over the last two rounds. I think we finally got the monkey off our back and proved to ourselves that we can compete. Unfortunately, all three rounds count! We have to do better at fighting through the adversity and not digging ourselves a deep hole.
That said, we did pick up 12 more wins and another victory over a Southland Conference foe. We played the front nine today at 5-under par and put ourselves in position with a chance to win. We didn't finish it off like we would have liked, but we will learn from this and be a better team the next time out."
